Yield: 1 pound of asparagus for 3-4 people
1 pound of fresh asparagus with the woody ends snapped or cut off-usually 1-2 inches off the ends of the asparagus spears
3 tablespoons of butter sliced into chunks
2 tablespoons lemon juice
Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper for taste
1/4 cup water
1. Take prepared asparagus and lay in glass or pyrex dish, like above.
2. Add 1/4 cup of water for steaming.
3. Sprinkle over lemon juice, adds pats of butter, season with salt and pepper.
4. Cover with saran wrap or a glass lid preferably and microwave for 3 minutes. It’s ready. The asparagus should still have a bit of crunch to them, they shouldn’t be too soft. I steam broccoli and greens beans in the microwave for the same amount of time. The lemon and butter add extra flavor to these vegetables also.
