extra virgin olive oil
1 large garlic clove sliced in half- optional
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
2. Slice the baguette thinly into about 1/2 inch thick pieces.
3. Brush the bread lightly with olive oil on both sides and place on parchment lined baking sheet. Before placing on baking sheet you can rub one side of each slice of bread with half of garlic clove. You will be surprised at how much garlic flavor this lends to the crostini.
4. Bake bread slices for 5-7 minutes, until golden brown.
Tip: I find the the crostini, once baked off and cooled, will keep for up to two weeks in a sealed container or zip lock bag.
